Since our founding on February 14, 1920, the League of Women Voters of Maine has been a grassroots organization. For over a hundred years, we've been on the ground dedicated to suffrage work, expanding access to the ballot, protecting the rights of voters, campaigning for good democracy reform, reducing big money in politics, instituting ranked choice voting, modernizing our elections, and the list goes on.
We have a century's worth of experience behind us. But the work is far from done.
That's why on the anniversary of our founding, our birthday, we'll meet in Augusta for a day of advocacy.
And you’re personally invited! This is an annual tradition where League folks from across the state congregate at the State House. We engage with our legislators on important issues and hear from speakers about the most pressing matters facing our democracy today.
This is a hands-on experience. If this is your first time lobbying a legislator, then we’ll pair you with a seasoned advocate to walk you through the steps.

We so appreciate your dedication to protecting our democracy. It's critical for legislators to hear from their constituents about vital issues. Legislators understand that they serve the voter, and they value your perspective.

See you in Augusta,
