Action Under the Dome For Monday, December 12

Monday, December 12, 2022
Jen Lancaster

This past week we were in Augusta to talk with legislators about our priorities, like National Popular Vote, and possible bills in the new session. We were also there to support the Wabanaki Alliance and their fight for tribal sovereignty.

The Legislature is transitioning back to in-person protocols. This means we can expect many visits to the State House to deliver testimony in public hearings. Hybrid options may be available for those who want to deliver testimony remotely.

We'll announce our support for bills and other pressing updates once those become available. In the meantime, here are your reminders and event listings for this week.

Calling Writers, Researchers, Editors, and Creative People: We're prepping our work for the next State of Democracy report. It examines and assesses the state of democracy in Maine based on publicly-available data, published reports, and research conducted by our team. It's widely received and critically acclaimed. (Where's our Pulitzer, right?) Read our last report here. If you're interested in joining us as a writer, researcher, and/or editor, we welcome your skills to the team. Email Ann for more information.
