The countdown is on for the Maine Youth Voting Summit. This Friday, September 30, young people — from high school students to college students and young professionals — will gather to build their civic leadership and election engagement skills. We have an amazing group of speakers lined up to tell the story of how they got started in public service and politics: Governor Mills, Secretary Bellows, Representative Carlow, and more! [Note: This is a strictly nonpartisan space. Elected officials are asked not to share any platform/campaign information unless directly asked by a student.] There is also a wicked line up of workshops. Check out the agenda. Here's a preview: - Making Change at the Ballot — Citizen Initiatives & Direct Democracy with Maine People's Alliance
- Democracy is an Ongoing Project: Building Skills of Advocacy with Sierra Club & Our Power
- How Elections Work in Your Town with Waterville's City Clerk
