Community Listening Session: Language and Access at the Polls

Hosted On Zoom
Tuesday, October 29, 2024
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Join Disability Rights Maine, the Maine Immigrant Rights Coalition, and the League of Women Voters of Maine for a conversation about what voting is like for people who speak languages other than English, or who need assistance with written English.

Our community listening session will be hosted on zoom, with breakout rooms set up for speakers of different languages. We want to hear what people's experiences have been as voters - the things that have gone well and the challenges.

Voting is just one part of being a member of our society, but it's an important part, and one that some people find challenging. We want to understand what works and what doesn't so that we can work toward creating good solutions for the future.

This event is sponsored by Disability Rights Maine, the Maine Immigrant Rights Coalition, and the League of Women Voters of Maine, with participation by members of other organizations and communities as well. All are welcome!
