If you've joined us before, you're welcome to come to this orientation and share your experience. Lots of folks are nervous about knocking on doors, and we know our canvassers have great stories to share.
Neighbor to Neighbor is a particular canvassing project aimed at reaching low-income voters, many of whom are new Mainers, at their homes. We work in partnership with housing providers and other nonprofits to make sure we're as effective as possible at inviting our neighbors to participate in our democracy, and bring materials in several languages with us. Our goals are to invite, engage, and inform people, and as always we're nonpartisan and never support or oppose any candidates.
We will begin canvassing in August this year and continue through October, with both weekday and weekend opportunities.
